Secretary of the Year
There are good secretaries and bad secretaries and at times there are outstanding secretaries. Starting in 1981, the New Haven County Bowling Association instituted an award to be given each year to an outstanding secretary.
The first such winner was David Ginter, who kept an outstanding set of books for the two leagues he ran. Though times have changed and the way we manage our leagues has changed, David’s award was based on filing his sanction application early with neat information cards, a prompt filing of the final average sheets, and promotion of New Haven County Bowling Association activities including the annual tournament. All of David’s league members respected the outstanding job he did every week for his leagues, and they also respected him as a good sport and a competitive bowler. These are the continued qualities we hope to see in Secretary of the Year candidates.
